| SPRING Winter chill has released her hold Given up for now her icy blast Picked up her snowy garment cold From frosted ground where she had cast The earth it sighs in sweet release When icy fingers loose their cling And is content and feels at ease To open arms and welcome spring Green her dress with flowers adorned Blue her eyes of sunlit sky In her laughter hearts are warmed And life renewed as she passes by A sinner's heart is chilled as frost To God above it is so cold Frozen out; in wild blizzards lost In sin's bitter winter hold But then the love of God shines in The thawing of heart is begun And their winter day of cold chilling sin Melts away in the brightness of God's dear Son He comes with grace and mercy dressed On finding the lost He sets His eye For those downcast with sin oppressed Reach out for Him as He passes by And He will renew as the spring Stirs the earth to life once more The sun of blessing; a new song to sing And peace will come that was never knew before Bluer will be the sky above Warmer hearts will beat in breast Bathed in the sunlight of God's love And in His precious Son; finding rest Winter has gone, farewell at last Bees will hum and birds will sing And for redeemed sinners cold hearts are past For they will glow with God's love in eternal spring Colin Moffett |
