THE GARDENER

Saw you in your garden today
Cleaning the mess from the way
You carried your hoe to clear the weeds
To make way for New Life

Your garden now needs work
It is overgrown and crowded
But you the Master gardener
Will clear away all that is dead

Your Father up in heaven
Is a Master gardener too
He planted one in Eden
And gave it to His creation

You learned your craft well
From the Father up above
He also gave one more lesson
His Son sent to us in love

The Father’s love, a branch
From the root of Jesse
Would bear fruit, and He is the branch
My precious Saviour, God’s only Son

He came to bring us life
But to do that He had to die
Just like the bulbs in the garden
They are buried but soon bring new life

So you in your garden here on Earth
Learned your craft from the best
And He has prepared another garden
To be seen when His Son returns to this garden fallen

You work in Your garden
Clearing away debris
Making room for daffodils and crocuses
And in your heart, the Son of God.
