Love So Amazing

LOVE SO AMAZING

The Everlasting Father has made a covenant with us.
He has sealed it with His Spirit, blood and Word.
It is Jesus, the Lamb of God, the Word made flesh.
He came to be a sacrifice for us, to free us from sin,
Spotless and blameless before our Heavenly Father.

Love so amazing coming down from above.
To come and live as we do.
Jesus came and knew all that we feel.
He was tempted as we but did not sin as we do.

He knew hunger when He went into the wilderness.
And was tempted with ultimate power by Satan.
He stood fast on the Word of God,
To show us we could too.

He was rejected by those who loved and knew Him.
He knew the same pain we feel when we are rejected.
And yet, He willingly suffered it all for you and me.
He was put on a cross, and died for love of us.

Love so amazing that You would die for me.
To take my sins and frailties and be nailed to a tree.
To die in agony there with so much love.
To be separated from everything, by dieing there for me.

My Blessed Saviour, so full of love and compassion,
It is my sins that drove in the nails and crowned You with thorns.
My sins You willingly took the lashings for.
And my sins that You bore on the cross to set me free.

Your precious blood that You shed so freely,
Has washed my sins away forever, to be seen no more.
All I need do is take Your hand, and follow You.
For I am forgiven and cleansed and loved.
