The Sadness in Your Eyes

THE SADNESS IN YOUR EYES

The sadness in your eyes tell me
there has been so much pain.
You have known pain
that I cannot imagine.
It tears at your heart at times so hard
it hurts you physically.
I can see the longing
for it to end.

Your eyes also tell me
how much you long to be loved.
They mirror the gentleness
of your soul.
You long for the pain to ease
and pray for release.
They are pleading to me
because your heart is too pained.

Beloved come to me,
I am calling gently.
Your heart will be healed,
I will make it bearable.
I know how you are feeling,
how you can’t find the words.
Just tell me your heart
and I will heal it.

Come, take my nail scarred hand,
I will walk this road with you.
You ask why my hand was
scarred by a nail?
I came to live and die
for you, because I love you.
I came so you could be
truly free and loved.

Now your eyes show me
the wonders you see, and of your love.
You see all that I have done
for you, out of love for you.
I gladly take your hand
and will dwell in your heart,
And when things get rough
I will hold you in my arms and dry your tears.

You are my beloved child,
I will be with you always.
This journey called life
won’t be easy.
But hold tightly to my hand,
I will guide you through.
For I love you so much,
I died for you.
