| THE GOOD NEWS I’m not a preacher I’m not a teacher Just a simple artist Trying my hardest Through photos and art And writing from the heart Spreading the good news however I can Far and wide across the land You see there is a chasm So deep and full of sin Between our precious Saviour and us But He came to show the way across He gave up His home in glory So begins a wondrous story He came to be born in a lowly manger Came to save us while from God we were strangers He walked this earth for thirty odd years He gave sight to the blind, opened deaf ears He bid the lame walk take up their bed And helped fishermen fish for men instead He ate with sinners, set captives free He came for them, came for you and me You and I the captives of sin He bids us, enter in His earthly life ended on Calvary’s tree The blood He shed sets us free To be set free, repent, come beneath the crimson flow And His grace, mercy, love and peace you will know Through God’s only Son your life can change Doubts and sins for new life exchanged For one thing I know, Jesus saves And with Him we no longer need fear the grave And when He returns to claim His own With Him we will go to our eternal home For to spend the rest of eternity with Him is better Than to die in sin and remain in fetters So seek Him out accept His grace He will help you finish the race For nowhere else will you ever find Any greater love or peace of mind Jeannine Faith |
